B018 [B&F: 0842] Sophronia humerella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

 

Extinct in the British Isles, formerly in dry sandy areas in Berkshire, Nottinghamshire and Cumbria, but not since 1970. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 12-13 mm. Larva feeds on Field Wormwood and Tansy, living between leaves and shoots spun together with silk, no evidence of breeding in the UK.
