Extinct in the British Isles. The most recent record was from Moulsecoomb, East Sussex, in 1906, before which it was found only in the Brighton area (MBGBI Vol 4 part 2). Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 13-18 mm. Larva feeds within seed capsules of Common Rock-rose.
