Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in woodland and scrubland in parts of England and Wales. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 13-15 mm. Distinguished from P. gilvicomana by the comparatively clear ground colour in the postmedian area of the forewing [Bradley]. Larva feeds within flowers of Goldenrod.
