Endangered (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in downland in parts of Britain. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. stated by Meyrick [1927] to occur in the county but there have been no confirmatory records, despite searches amongst the foodplant. Wingspan 10-13 mm. The conspicuous fasciate purplish markings, which contrast with the deep yellow ground colour of the forewing, are characteristic [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Juniper, living between berries spun together with silk.
