Recorded infrequently through accidental importation in garden plants from Asia. In Hampshire, recorded for the first time at Titchfield Haven on 26 July 1996. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 16-23 mm. Larva feeds on Tea, Coffee and various shrubs, causing sufficient damage to be a serious pest in some areas; no evidence of breeding in the UK.
