Nationally scarce (Na) in gardens, scrub and fens throughout much of England and Wales. In Hampshire very rare, recorded on single occasions from one locality in the south and two in the north. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan male 15-20 mm, female 19-23 mm. Occasionally confused with Syndemis musculana but distinguished by the absence of white coloration in the forewing [Bradley]. Larva polyphagous on various trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants, living within a spun or rolled leaf.
