Rare (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) and restricted to the fens of East Anglia and Cambridgeshire plus a few sites in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight where known from Gosport and Freshwater, respectively. Wingspan 15-20 mm. A distinctive species, readily recognisable by the narrow forewing with its apex acutely angled, and the brownish ochreous general coloration [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Purple Loosestrife, living between shoots spun together with silk.
