Extinct in the British Isles, formerly in woodland in parts of Essex, Kent and East Sussex. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 12-14 mm. A distinctive species, readily recognised by its characteristic forewing pattern [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Aspen, living within a spun or rolled leaf, over-wintering as a pupa.
