Endangered (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in dry pastures in parts of England. Not reliably recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 9-11 mm. Reminiscent of C. cosmophorana but smaller, with the forewing relatively broader and marked with narrower silvery metallic striae; further distinguished by the presence of whitish spots or patches in the apical area of the hindwing [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Dyer's Greenweed, over-wintering in a cocoon.
