Main: (Pyralidae / Phycitinae)
62.015 [B&F: 1462] Delplanqueia dilutella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

The species on the British list known as D. dilutella is now known to be two species, with the sister being D. inscriptella, due to differences in the genitalia of both sexes (Leraut (2001)) and the latter species was added to the British list in 2015 (D. Agassiz, Ent. Rec.127)

The status of the present species is still being established - old records in our region ascribed to dilutella are assumed to refer to inscriptella, with dilutella sensu stricto only having been confirmed from Cornwall, Ireland, the Isle of Man and Scotland; the mapped distribution reflects this assumption. Wingspan 18-23 mm.

All records of Deplanqueia dilutella must be confirmed by dissection to be acceptable.
