Recorded infrequently through accidental importation in potatoes from North Africa, several of which are held by BMNH having been bred from larvae found in Egyptian potatoes in 1962 and 1963. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 22-30 mm. Larva feeds on Potato, causing sufficient damage to be a serious pest in some areas; no evidence of breeding in the UK.
