Recorded infrequently through accidental importation in peaches and pomegranates from southern Europe. Usually discovered as larvae in produce purchased from supermarkets, although occasionally taken at light under circumstances consistent with arrival as genuine migrants, such as one on St Marys, Isles of Scilly on 28 August 2004. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 15-20 mm. Similar to Cryptoblabes gnidiella, which see. Larva feeds on Peach and Pomegranate, causing sufficient damage to be a serious pest in some areas; no evidence of breeding in the UK.
