Known only from limestone downland in parts of Eire, particularly on the Burren in County Clare but also from south-east Galway and west Mayo. While there is a specimen in BMNH labelled as being from Folkestone, Kent, 1912, this must be an error, and not expected to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 17-20 mm. Larva feeds on stems of Mountain Everlasting Antennaria dioica. See Plant (2011) for details.
