Local in oak woodland throughout much of northern England and southern Scotland; rare in North Wales. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 16-23 mm. Forewing has brown costal dash and spot at base of wing cleft. Larva feeds within flowers and seedheads of Goldenrod and Common Ragwort.
