56.0031 [B&F: 1539a] Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) (Linnaeus, 1758)


Common in deciduous woodland, grassland and parks throughout much of North America. One was found in Co. Wicklow in 1932, probably accidentally imported as a pupa from North America. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 75-130 mm. Larva feeds on Wild Cherry and Ash.
