Local in flower meadows, scrubland and upland grassland; 75-2300 m throughout much of southern Europe and southern Scandinavia. In Britain, has been recorded from Kent in the past, but perhaps deliberately imported. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 30-34 mm. Larva feeds on Kidney Vetch.
