Nationally scarce (Nb) on moorland and upland grassland, in Scotland and northern England. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 18-20 mm. Fairly unmistakable. Larva feeds on flowers and seeds of Eyebright, over-wintering as a pupa.
