Local in gardens and allotments throughout much of the British Isles, a species of conservation concern under the UK Biodiversity Action Plan. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight has declined to such an extent that there has been no records in the county since 1999, when it was seen for the last time in Pamber Forest, its final stronghold in the county. Wingspan 27-34 mm. Unmistakable. Larva feeds on Black Currant, Red Currant and Gooseberry, over-wintering as an egg.
