Local on acid moorland, in northern England, Wales and Scotland. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 33-41 mm. Larva feeds on woody plants, such as Bog-myrtle, Heather and Bilberry, over-wintering as a pupa.
