Occurrence in the British Isles unconfirmed, this North American species is included on the British list on the basis of a single male, captured in a light trap in a garden at Plumstead, Kent, on 24 May 1952. The moth was probably amongst a number of insects imported from the USA by the finder. Wingspan 46-50 mm. Larva feeds on various broad-leaved trees.
