Very rare immigrant (less than 10 previous UK records) from sub-Saharan Africa and the Canary Islands, appearing in the south, recorded for the first time in Britain at Rye Harbour, East Sussex on 31 July 1995 with no further records to date. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 32-38 mm. No evidence of breeding in the UK.
