Appendix A: (Erebidae / Erebinae)
72.0871 [B&F: 2455b] Robust Tabby (Pandesma robusta) (Walker, [1858])

Accidental import. A partly squashed and nearly dead adult was found at the Tesco supermarket checkout in Hook, north Hampshire, on 31 December 2001 by Paul Boswell. It was positively identified by Martin Honey at the British Museum of Natural History. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date.
Wingspan 38-40 mm. A native of southern Europe, into Africa and eastwards into Asia. The larvae feed on a number of host plants, including Acacia, although none are likely to be an import to a Tesco store!
