Occurrence in the British Isles unconfirmed, this Asian species is included on the British list on the basis of a specimen said to have been captured at Barham in 1830. Wingspan 34-40 mm. It is unlikely that records of this species will be accepted unless the specimen is retained for examination. Larva feeds on various grasses, causing sufficient damage to be a serious pest in some areas, no evidence of breeding in the UK.
