Common in deciduous, especially oak, woodland throughout the British Isles. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight mines are often abundant on deciduous oaks. Wingspan 8-11 mm. More frequently recorded in the larval stage, when the mines are fairly easy to find where they are present. Larva mines leaves of Oak and Sweet Chestnut.
