Nationally scarce (Na) in open woodland in England, South Wales and Scotland, but not recorded from the extreme north of Scotland, the Outer Hebrides, Orkney or Shetland (MBGBI Vol 3). In Hampshire first recorded at Emery Down on 19 June 1971, with the only other acceptable record being an adult taken in Micheldever Wood in 2003. All other records received are treated as unconfirmed due to no specimen being taken and genitalia dissected, and no records will be accepted without such evidence. Wingspan 14-15 mm. Larva feeds on Rowan and Hawthorn, beneath a silken web, often several together.
