Very rare immigrant from southern Europe, appearing in southern England on 15 occasions (to 2019), two of which have occurred in Hampshire, in 2016 and 2017, and two in 2019 on consecutive days (although it is unclear whether these may relate to the same individual). Wingspan 34-36 mm. A beautifully marked, highly distinctive moth. Larva feeds on Bracken, with no evidence of breeding in the UK.
