Common often abundant, in all types of habitat throughout the British Isles. Widespread and very common in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 35-44 mm. The presence of the dark mark on the patagia distinguishes Heart and Dart from the occasional female Heart and Club A. clavis
which resembles it (MBGBI Vol 9). Larva feeds on herbaceous plants such as Ribwort Plantain and Fat-hen.
