Common throughout much of the British Isles. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight mines are common on hawthorn in all three vice-counties. Wingspan 3.6-4.5 mm. The larva mines the leaves of Hawthorn, and are often common in hedgerows and woodland where this grows. The mines are described in the following link: leafmines.co.uk .
